Though the posts were on December 2, Power said the incident happened “a few weeks ago”, which would likely be before he competed in the SKUSA SuperNationals event in Las Vegas last month. It’s not clear from his social post if he raced with broken bones in the Vegas event or if that crash was afterwards.
Power was disqualified from second in the X30 Masters Class of the SKUSA event for a technical infringement, according to Speedcafe.
The incident comes two months after Power sealed his second IndyCar title in the series finale at Laguna Seca where he also broke the IndyCar record for the most poles. He won one race this year, in Detroit.
