Video: McLaren and Williams are test two’s teams in trouble
McLaren is in “a race against time” amid a persistent and costly brake problem, and Williams has melted its suspension, leaving both under pressure in Bahrain Formula 1 testing
In Spain it was Alfa Romeo and Haas that were in conspicuous trouble at the first 2022 pre-season Formula 1 test.
But in Bahrain, it’s McLaren and Williams that are currently up against it.
McLaren’s pre-season preparations have suffered a blow with the team finding itself in a “race against time” to complete some vital brake work before the F1 season begins.
McLaren is the first big hitter to be hit by a sustained problem in testing but as we explain in this video, it’s far from the only team to have stumbled in Bahrain.
And the honour of the most dramatic setback so far falls to Williams, for a fire that melted its rear suspension and cost it more than half a day’s running.
